2005: A Top Ten (Six)
(beause I did it last year and I've got nothing else to post)

6. Theatre
Between Phedre and Ab7urdities, if you went to a production in UNCW's SRO Theatre in 2005, you saw my face, or more importantly, you heard my voice. This sweetly powerful baritone rang through the Kenan Hall for a ten minute monologue as Theramane of Thebes, and again with the drawling off-beat humor of an old country boy and the fast-forward version of several characters in Hamlet. My appearance in these two productions will only lead to more roles and exposure in the future, and I look forward to a solid career in UNCW theatre and perhaps beyond.

5. Backpacking
I ended 2004 on the trail, and ventured to the hills again to bid 2005 farewell. Though my treks this year were short and few, backpacking still helped to define this year. I made some serious investments in gear, and took my first solo trek to one of my very favorite places. And just a few days ago, I took part in my first overnight winter trek in the backcountry.

4. Facebook
That's right, it was just this past March that Facebook was introduced to UNCW, and it's been wasting our time and lowering our GPA's ever since. Thanks, Facebook.

3. History
I declared my history major in the spring and dove right into finishing up the core requirements (and my basic studies) by the end of the fall semester. I also wrote my first real piece of history this year, and I've never been more certain about my choice of major.

2. Grown People's Business
Got a grown people's job, got some grown people's clothes, and got into a grown people's relationship. There's not enough to write about all that (at least that y'all need to be hearing about) to make it three different things so I made it one. Overall 2005 was my first on the road to being grown people.

1. 2006
Jesus, 2005 sucked. I say the best part about 2005 is that it's over.
